19 Days of Blessings

Ahhh, the sweet feeling of climbing into your own bed! We have been away from home for 19 days and what a trip we had.

We started the trip with a family vacation. From there went to visit friends in Pensacola, Tampa, Vero Beach Florida, and all over North Carolina. We were so excited about this trip. To see all our loved ones, but also because we were finally ready to start building our ministry team. Who better to do that with the the people who are already a big part of our lives? As we shared what was going on in our lives we were overwhelmed with the amount of excitement and eagerness to get involved.

You see, for us going into full time ministry was a big step. We watch firsthand as our parents waded through the ups and downs of that life. At the onset, we were both not looking forward to support raising. As we talked with other missionaries and got some training here at Gospel Hope on the subject, we felt more joy and honor in the whole process. As we let scripture and not our personal experience dictate our thoughts, everything changed. Instead of us going to ask people to fund us, we were going to tell people what God has allowed us to be a part of and inviting them along for the ride.

Something beautiful happened as we met with our family and friends. We were so encouraged by how God was working in their lives and challenged to pray for them as they pursued God’s leading in their lives. It wasn’t all about us, it was a relationship. What a sweet gift from the Lord to allow what once was a source of dread (support raising) to became just another way to strengthen relationships that we already had. We are hopeful that this will only grow. That we will be able to be a source of mutual encouragement and truly be a team in this life. That by joining together in prayer and support we will mutually be blessed and rewarded in how the Lord uses us all. It’s simply beautiful!

Thank you all who have chosen to come on the team! Thank you all who have been praying for and encouraging us along the way. We know its powerful! We know it necessary! We are blessed!

We are not the best at capturing the moment on camera, so we only have a handful of people we visited. But each visit was so sweet and unique! We wish we did have a photo to look back on. Here is what we did capture.
