Missional Storytelling

Here in Atlanta, there are so many creative people. When you mix creativity with a love for Jesus, you often get something truly amazing. A couple of those creative, Jesus-loving people are Brady and Cole. Both of them work in the film industry, and the Lord has given them a deep desire to tell stories of what God is doing around the world through film. Their passion is simple but powerful: capture real stories of faith and share them in a way that brings glory to God and encourages others.
Following the Lord’s Leading
It has been a joy for me to walk alongside Brady and Cole as they follow the Lord’s leading in this work. I’ve had the privilege of helping with filming and storytelling as we document what God is doing through believers and missionaries in different parts of the world. Each project has felt less like a production and more like an act of obedience—simply saying yes to what the Lord is putting in front of us and trusting Him with the outcome.
Our First Documentary in Nepal
The first documentary we worked on together happened while we were in Nepal. During that trip, we interviewed pastors and local believers, giving them the opportunity to share their stories. Our goal was to let their voices be heard and show how God is moving in their communities.
The film turned out to be incredibly powerful—raw, honest, and deeply moving. It captures the faith and courage of believers who follow Jesus in difficult circumstances. For safety reasons, however, this film can only be shown privately and in-house. Even though it can’t be widely shared, the impact it has had on those who have seen it has been meaningful.
A New Story in Tanzania
But the story doesn’t end there. We felt the Lord leading us to do it again—this time in Tanzania.
We have missionary partners living there, the Anyan family. Tanzania is very far away, and it can be difficult to describe what daily life is like for someone who has never experienced it. The Anyans wanted a way to help others understand their world and see what the Lord is doing in their village and ministry. Film felt like the perfect way to share that story.
So Cole, Brady, and I set out to capture it.
Capturing Testimonies and Real Life
During our time there, we spent most of our days filming testimonies—36 in total. These stories came from people in the community whose lives have been touched by the gospel. Hearing and documenting their experiences was both humbling and inspiring.
But our goal wasn’t only to film. We also wanted to encourage the missionaries and leave a positive impact on the community they are serving. While we were there, we partnered with local community members to build a playground for the school. It was a small way to serve, but it meant a lot to the family and the children who would use it every day.
Evenings of Worship and Fellowship
Some of the most meaningful moments didn’t happen behind the camera. In the evenings, we gathered together with the missionaries and community members. We spent time worshiping, laughing, praying, crying, and simply talking together—often in English.
Those moments of fellowship were special. The Lord showed up in powerful ways during our time there, and we witnessed some major breakthroughs in relationships between the missionaries and people in their village.
The Work Continues
Now that we’re back home, the work continues. Hours of footage are being reviewed and edited as we work to complete the film.
We’re excited about what this documentary will become and how it will help share the story of what God is doing in Tanzania.
So stay tuned—you’re not going to want to miss it.
