Five Days Till Liftoff

But God

As I sit here in the quiet of our family home in Tennessee, it's hard to believe all that has happened in the last few weeks leading up to this moment. This time last month we didn't know where we would live, what we would drive, or if we would even be able to leave on June 2nd. But God. He knew — and He gave us the grace to sit back in anticipation and joy, watching as He unveiled so many good gifts before our eyes.

More Than Food and Clothing

Matthew 6 has been on our minds as we walk this journey to Puerto Rico: "Do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?"

The Basics and Beyond

What a blessing it has been to watch the Lord provide — a beautiful house in exactly the location we need to be, a car that is more than what we need for less than what we anticipated spending, a flight bought in faith months ago that we don't need to change, and a shipping trailer that fit all of our household goods. Those are the basics that our kind Father faithfully provided. But the "more than" is where we have been asking the Lord to keep us.

Abiding in the More Than

In that place of "more than," we have received peace — given freely. Joy — in abundance. Grace for the moments when our eyes drifted to the waves around us. Strength to run this marathon, and when we couldn't run it alone, people to run alongside us. He asked us to trust Him with the unknown of where we would lay our heads, so that we could learn to trust Him in the "more than". That's where we long to abide.

We Don't Know, But He Does

We don't know exactly what God has in store for us in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. We don't know exactly why He is placing us there. But we do know He is trustworthy. He is worthy of all glory. Our lives are a vapor. All we need to do is love Him and love the people around us.

Thank You

So, we say thank you. Thank you to our Father for allowing us to abide in His kindness, clear direction, and abundance of provision. Thank you to all of you who have come to the throne on our behalf — without prayer, we are powerless. Thank you to those who have supported and are supporting us financially. We can't do this alone, and we don't want to. We look forward to what God will do, and how He will draw all of us closer to Himself.
