Opportunities Abound

As I walked into the familiar room of the family life center, I had a feeling that I was on the wrong side of this event. I am the guy who gets things rolling and keeps them going smoothly. However, tonight my title is guest speaker. I haven’t spoken for a while so I’m both excited and feel the weight of presenting God’s word. As I mingle with the young adults gathering this evening I become aware that I have never spoken to an audience I didn’t know personally. Another first here at Gospel Hope Church.

I was asked to share a part of the armor of God. The group was attentive and had great conversations in debrief afterwards. Hearing them process through the word I had just shared had me thanking God for His faithfulness. Later on that week one of the young adults in attendance told me they had a friend there who does not know Christ. He, as it turns out, Loves all things war, armor and battle. She told me he really grabbed onto some of the illustrations and enjoyed listening. How encouraging that was to hear! Now our prayer is that the Holy Spirit takes that seed and he comes to understand his need for his savior Jesus Christ.
